• CommsDay Summit 2026

Fullerton Hotel 1 Martin Place, Sydney, NSW, Australia

Australia’s pre-eminent telecommunications industry conference, CommsDay Summit, returns to Sydney this June for its 25th edition, taking place at the Fullerton Hotel on June 2–3. The Summit will again bring together the most senior leaders in Australia’s communications sector, including the CEOs of major network operators and retailers, senior executives from leading global technology vendors and the heads of the country’s key regulatory and co-regulatory bodies.

Around 400 delegates are expected to attend, creating a forum that combines senior representation with an environment small enough to allow genuine conversation and effective networking.

For the first time, the event will open with a pre-Summit reception on the evening of June 1, giving delegates, speakers and sponsors an additional opportunity to connect ahead of the main conference.

A special pre-Summit Monday “Restoring Telecom Reputation” forum, developed with the Australian Telecommunications Alliance, will examine how the sector can strengthen public confidence amid heightened regulatory, political and consumer scrutiny.

The program will also address the key issues shaping the industry, including sustainability, the maturation of 5G and fibre networks, artificial intelligence and the growing energy demands of digital infrastructure.

  • ARCIA: Microwave Engineering Masterclass [Online short course] August 2026

    Online , Australia

Learn how to Plan, Design and Operate Radio Networks.

Microwave radio as a technology has been around for decades, but over the years it has transitioned from analogue to digital transmission systems and we have seen huge advances in equipment characteristics. This mix of old and new has resulted in a lot of confusion, with this course unraveling the mysteries of these multiple industry myths.

At the end of this course, you will understand the overall microwave market with an update on current and future developments, including how to apply the latest planning standards.

Microwave propagation is still analogue, and an in-depth understanding of microwave propagation and the various fading effects from weather variations is essential to designing, operating and maintaining a stable network. The new hardware improvements and features will be covered, as well as an in-depth look at antennas and the effects of interference in a digital network.

There are lots of opportunities to apply the theory with practical examples and tutorials using a training calculator that has all the basic formulas that are embedded in industry planning software tools. This allows the participants to understand the input parameters to industry planning tools plus what the output sheets really mean.
